She Closed the Door

and she was tired of waiting,

of looking at the door,

staring and waiting for the traveller to come!

It had been years since he left,

and every passing day,

she would look at the same vessels,

wondering if he would come back ,

and they will have meals together!

she looked at the same ticket,

she bought to drop him off,

carrying them with herself,

wherever she went!

with every notification on her phone,

she would jump in hope,

that it would be her traveller!

that it would be him,

always reminded of how in vain,

are her attempts!

she would travel to the city of the traveller,

to get his glimpse,

only to come back in vain!

realising, he sat too far,

only to come back realising,

even if their eyes met,

his heart was somewhere else!

to come back one day,

to sit at the corner,

they sat together,

to look at the vessels they ate together,

to know that the traveller she fell for,

was always there in her house,

in her heart, in her mind, in her vessels,

in that corner, and the man,

the man she was searching for in the cities,

was not her traveller!

and so after years of staring at the open door,

she closed the door,

closed the door for the man of the cities,

for she had found her traveller,

within her home!
