Do you remember world cup 2015? Apart from the fact that we lost, there was so much more in it. No, I am not talking about Virat. This year I saw people watching the match in youtube. And some were getting the latest updates from Google. But there were some who were doing it both. You can imagine what the situation would have been like. They already knew the score and then they watched it happening, making the watching and the real happening so boring.
Did you watch this new Sherlock Holmes season? Should I tell you what happens in it? Half of you would be like get lost, the other half would straight away kick me! After all who wants to know what is going to happen!! Really?
I agree knowing the story is so boring. I mean even knowing the score of the match made a match like “world cup semifinal” so boring. I know I am saying what you already know, what you already feel. But the point is not that! What I am trying to say is that we never want to know the suspense of a movie. Rather we want to watch it for ourselves. We don’t even want to know the scores of a match!!
But then I wonder, when it comes to such trivial matters we never want to know the future but when it gets down to the real movie, the movie of our life, we often tend to get worried, what will happen next. Rather than enjoying it the way it is, wishing for some climax, some romance, some fights, a lot of comedy and a happy ending. We end up asking people who themselves have no story, how would our story end.
Sometimes I wonder, we humans are so weird. Just think about it. Has ever “thinking” helped any one of us? Life is so much like this movie. We never know what will happen next. And if we know it gets so boring. Or rather I would say life is like the cricket match, highlights are always boring, live is the real fun.
We never know what will happen in the next over, not even the next ball. All we know is what happened after the ball was played and before it was. So, maybe, I guess it is time that we stop worrying over the next over. Whether we will win or lose. The time has come that we start facing each ball, no matter the bowler is Shahid Afridi(tough times) or M.S Dhoni(easy times). Who cares whether we will win or lose, what matters is just that one ball. Let’s try to hit sixes and fours when it is an easy time and play well in the tough times not to get out.
Let’s make our lives like a “Bollywood movie”, no matter what, there is always going to be a happy ending. Or maybe a world cup final, where all we are bothered is about the ball we are facing, hoping that no matter we get out, in the end, we are going to win.
