If you have read my blogs, you know that I am may be a bit confused or a little more inquisitive. Either ways, I love reading and listening to videos on you tube. Now while listening to all of them and even through reading things here and there I have realised that India surely has something about it. I don’t know what (you can call it my ignorance) but then something. May be we are the most corrupt or the dirtiest or over-populated or whatever you call it, land of snake charmers or anything, I am not blaming or questioning anyone. Right now, I am telling not what my head says, but what my heart feels.
Those discarded Vedas and Purans and the religion and those beliefs, I don’t know whether they are true, but I don’t feel like discarding them before even knowing about them. You know I still am confused about the existence of God and everything around, but saying that I am an atheist or someone who hates religion and believes that America is the best country or the western culture is better or anything like that is not making sense to me anymore.
The first realisation came to me when I saw the video of an Oprah Winfrey show. So, the video was about a lady and her husband who were talking about “tantric sex”. And the moment she said, this comes straight from India, I felt a chord in my spine. Like what!! These people who talk about how fantastic and open minded their culture is, are talking about something that I being Indian don’t even know about. So, basically tantric sex is when you look into each other’s eyes and the concentration is so high that you can have kids. My gosh!! This is like okay!! She said that this kind of sex is from the soul and it is the most pure form of it. However, we are now not able to do it, because we don’t know much about it. That was the first time I felt my country needs attention, and more importantly from its own countrymen.
The second realisation came to me when I was reading something, I don’t remember the source. But then there was this thing written that before Britishers established their empire in India, an official came from Britain and travelled all over India and this is what he said, “He said it is impossible to rule this country. People over hear have such a high level of self-respect that the only way to rule them is to make them believe that the western culture is better than what they believe in”.
So, before making any further changes in my life, I am back to the same question, who am I? And this time, with a better or a different mind-set. The belief that says that you are what makes you. For example, you are what you love or what job you do, or what people you are with or the religion that you follow or the colours that you like! I hope I am making some sense.
Either ways, this time I am in a quest of figuring out about my country, its culture,
what is written in those religious books and why no matter there are so many books and religions, but Vedas are still regarded as one of the most important religious book. What are places to visit in my country and what all does it stores in its laps?
So, meet you soon fellas, with the answers of who am I but more importantly what is in India?
